The Big Fresno Fair has come a long way since it was established in 1884. What started out as a five day showcase of local produce, horse races, and carnival rides, has evolved into a 12 day extravaganza that generates nearly $70 million for Fresno County every year. Located on 165 acres in southeast Fresno, the Fair comes to life each October to host nearly 550,000 people from throughout the State.

As the largest event in the Central Valley, the annual Big Fresno Fair is the long awaited tradition of the year for Fresno County residents. Serving as a local economic, social and cultural treasure, the Fair is entrenched in the community as a tradition for generations of exhibitors, competitors and Fairgoers. According to a 2002 report commissioned by the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Division of Fairs and Expositions, The Big Fresno Fair contributes more than $68.6 million in economic impact to Fresno County annually. Economic impacts range from spending by attendees and businesses to nonprofit fundraising to job creation and to tax revenues. From people’s paychecks to community services, the return on investment from the Fair is widespread.

The mission of The Big Fresno Fair is to educate, celebrate, entertain, enhance community pride and showcase the bountiful assets of Fresno County and the Central Valley by providing – through partnerships – a safe, clean and pleasing environment for a culturally diverse audience year-round. The Fair takes great pride in its facility. In the past decade, the Fresno Fairgrounds has invested in excess of $13 million on capital improvements to provide Fresno County residents a facility they can be proud of and enjoy.

The Big Fresno Fair’s Board of Directors, Fair Management and staff invite you to be a part of this great community tradition in October! Come experience the fun and excitement!
